This semester-long course, taught by Joe Whitenton, is aimed at giving students grades 6-12 a serious foundation of knowledge in the Christian Tradition and Biblical Literacy. The Institute meets on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month, 6:00-7:30pm.
Pastor Joe will lead students through how to think about the big questions of life: (Does believing in God make sense of the world? How do we know right from wrong?) and how the scriptures and tradition of our faith help us think about those questions.
Redemption Institute is a fully online curriculum designed to give students from sixth through twelfth grade a strong foundation in the Christian faith. Each year of material exposes students to Bible, Church History, Christian Living and even Theology. Our curriculum is designed to pass on the foundations of the Faith to the next generation.
Our curriculum is designed to be accessible and age appropriate, and yet still challenging. We believe in asking more of young men and women, not less, setting them up to enter the world with a fully formed Christian identity that has been given the time and space to be explored, interrogated, and appreciated.
Even though the curriculum is online, our students learn together in community. We believe that students need more than just information to learn and grow. During each semester, students gather together twice a month to discuss the learning material, socialize, and pray together.
We are currently building out our curriculum for grades six through twelve. At the same time that we are building, we are also teaching active cohorts. Students of any grade level are capable of jumping on board at any time.
